A Clear Process for Better Projects

Luxury technology projects work best when decisions are made early, documented clearly, and coordinated with the entire project team. Our process helps homeowners, architects, designers, and builders understand what is needed, when decisions must be made, and how each system will be integrated.

Here is what to expect!

Initial Consultation

We meet with the homeowner and, when appropriate, the architect, builder, designer, or
project manager to understand the goals, review plans, and identify technology needs. This is where we begin learning how you want to live in the home, use each space, and experience the technology day to day.

Site Visit or Plan Review

We evaluate the site or architectural drawings to understand wiring pathways, equipment locations, lighting and shade requirements, A/V needs, network coverage, and other project-specific details.

Keypad & Control Planning

We help determine keypad locations, button layouts, engraving, control styles, and scene logic so the finished system is intuitive and easy to use. We will meet with you twice during this phase, once for a 'On-site keypad walkthrough', and second, a Zoom meeting for Engraving Design.

Lighting, Shade, A/V & Network Planning

We review fixture concepts, shade locations, speaker options, TV locations, Wi‑Fi coverage, control preferences, and infrastructure requirements.

Review Meeting / Proposal Review

We then hold a review meeting with the customer and, when appropriate, the architect or designer to walk through the proposed system, budget, design assumptions, and recommended options. This is the stage where questions, refinements, and changes can be discussed before installation begins. Up to two review iterations are included before the final proposal is presented.

Documentation & Installation

In this final step, you receive the bill of materials, drawings, and project documentation needed to move forward with confidence. Our team then handles installation, programming, testing, and long-term system support.

Let's talk about HTA

WHAT IS IT?

The Home Technology Association Certification system is the first and only industry standard of excellence for home technology installation companies. In an industry that has no barriers to entry, the HTA has created a rigorous set of standards for home technology companies to adhere to. The firms that meet the 60+ points of evaluation criteria are granted certification status. Once HTA Certified, these firms must commit to maintaining the high standards of HTA Certification or risk losing certification.

Once a firm passes the certification, the firm's information is published on the HTA website to empower consumers and design/build professionals to find the very best companies in their area. HTA Certified firms are assigned one of three tiers based on the typical project they excel at, and these are: Estate, Luxury, and Foundation.

Through a rigid set of more than 60 standards, HTA created a certification system that identifies and classifies the best home technology companies while weeding out the bad apples.

THE 3 QUALIFIERS

The certification system is built around three pillars:
1 - Technical Competency
We believe that only technically-skilled firms have the ability to deliver a great home technology experience. We certify only the firms with a stellar history of technical expertise.
2 - Aftercare Service
Technology is not perfect and is ever-changing. We believe homeowners need a responsive company to work with for ongoing customer service and support.
3 - Reputation
A strong track record of being fair and honest is vital. We believe every HTA Certified company should inspire trust and confidence. The HTA aims for great home technology experiences delivered by skilled, trustworthy companies who deliver exceptional customer service.

Explore our most common questions about luxury home technology integration, design process, and ongoing support.

What does iQUARTERS do?

iQUARTERS designs, installs, programs, and supports integrated lighting, shading, audio/video, networking, security, and control systems for luxury homes and high-end commercial buildings. We bring these systems together into one cohesive, intuitive environment.

What makes iQUARTERS different?

We are not simply installing products. We design and deliver complete environments that feel elegant, reliable, and easy to live with. Our work is design-led, carefully documented, and supported long after installation is complete.

What types of projects do iQUARTERS do?

We are typically the right fit for luxury new construction, major renovations, and legacy system upgrades where the technology should reflect the quality of the home itself. Our projects are always design-driven and focused on long-term performance, ease of use, and clean aesthetics.

Why should I work with an HTA Certified integrator?

The HTA is the home technology industry’s leading independent standards organization, and HTA Certification is a trusted mark of quality. It reflects technical competence, strong service, and a trusted reputation. Less than 5% of technology integrators have passed HTA’s rigorous standard. iQUARTERS is HTA Luxury and HTA Design certified. Whomever you choose, make sure they are HTA Certified!

What areas do iQUARTERS serve?

iQUARTERS is based in New York, with an office in Florida, and serves select projects across the United States. For new construction and renovations, we primarily serve clients throughout New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

Why is it important to bring iQUARTERS in early?

The earlier we are involved, the better the outcome. Early planning helps protect the design, reduce wall clutter, improve coordination with the project team, avoid rushed decisions later in the build, and often reduce unnecessary change orders and added expense.

Does iQUARTERS work with architects, builders, and interior designers?

Yes. In fact, some of our best projects begin with early collaboration alongside architects, builders, interior designers, lighting designers, and other trades to ensure the technology supports the beauty of the home and functions the way it should. Our role is to help protect the design while ensuring the technology performs as desired.

Can iQUARTERS upgrade an older lighting or control system?

Yes. Upgrading legacy systems is one of our specialties. We have deep experience modernizing older systems, including LiteTouch and other outdated platforms, while minimizing unnecessary disruption wherever possible. In most cases we can modernize a system with far less disruption than people expect. The right approach depends on the existing wiring, equipment, and overall goals for the home.

What systems do iQUARTERS specialize in?

We specialize in integrated lighting, motorized shades, whole-home control, audio/video, networking, and related technologies. With decades of experience, we work across most major platforms and have installed and serviced systems from many of the industry’s leading manufacturers. Our core work includes Lutron systems, premium control platforms, and the supporting infrastructure required to make everything perform as one seamless system.

Does iQUARTERS provide support after installation?

Yes. Ongoing support is an important part of what we do. We provide service, remote diagnostics, maintenance, updates, and continued care so the system remains dependable over time. Our Client Care team is available 24/7/365.

How much should I budget for a project?

That depends on the size of the home, the systems involved, and the level of performance you want. We are happy to provide early budget guidance, and our budget calculator is a helpful starting point before moving into detailed design. Visit it here
